Ani Difranco covers Prince



Oh how I wish there was actual footage of this posted on YouTube. I heard Ani Difranco's version of Prince's When Dove's Cry years ago. I fell in love with it then my love exists now. Although, the live concert footage isn't available I'm grateful to YouTube user for posting this. This is a great version of the song.

Ani Difranco and Prince actually collaborated a couple of times. Difranco has played on one of Prince's albums and he on one of hers.

Ani performed on Prince's Eye Love U, But Eye Don't Trust U Anymore featured on his album Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic (1999).

Prince sings back vocals on Ani Difranco's Providence on her To the Teeth album (2000). 




Here Ani Difranco covers Prince's When You Where Mine. Difranco is accompanied by the wonderful Maceo Parker.

Lastly, here is Ms. Difranco performing Garden of Simple which was originally written for Prince. The track can be found on her double album Reveling/Reckoning (2011).
